Transfer function approaches for SEEG brain electrode interface applied to tissue classification

چکیده
This paper is about transfer function approaches for brain-electrode interface modelling in the context of StereoElectroEncephaloGraphy, and their possible use tissue classification (between grey white matter). Monopolar bipolar configurations are first reviewed, giving rise to nonparametric parametric identification methods, as well related results (for identical tissues distinct at measurement points, respectively). A method combining both then proposed, so end up with a each point any case. The proposed methodology implemented clinical data collected from set epileptic patients, confirming its interest by providing more than 70% accuracy obtained results.

A Weighted K-means Algorithm applied to Brain Tissue Classification
Tissue classification in Magnetic Resonance (MR) brain images is an important issue in the analysis of several brain dementias. This paper presents a modification of the classical K-means algorithm taking into account the number of times specific features appear in an image, employing, for that purpose, a weighted mean to calculate the centroid of every cluster. Pattern Recognition techniques a...
متن کاملSignal Processing and Classification Approaches for Brain-computer Interface
Research on brain-computer interface (BCI) systems began in the 1970s at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) (Vidal, 1973; 1977). The author gave in his papers the expression "Brain Computer Interface" which is the term currently used in literature. A BCI system is a direct communication pathway between a brain and an external artificial device. BCI systems were aimed at assisting, ...
متن کاملTransfer Function Based Approaches to Array Calibration
This paper examines transfer-function based techniques for performing direction finding on a source of electromagnetic energy using a passive vector sensor array whose manifold is only nominally known. This problem is studied in the context of a situation in which the source can be observed from multiple look angles, as would be the case for an airborne array. The calibration algorithms examine...
متن کاملA Novel Dry Electrode for Brain-Computer Interface
A brain-computer interface is a device that uses signals recorded from the brain to directly control a computer. In the last few years, P300-based braincomputer interfaces (BCIs) have proven an effective and reliable means of communication for people with severe motor disabilities such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Despite this fact, relatively few individuals have benefited from curr...
متن کاملMouse genetic approaches applied to the normal tissue radiation response
The varying responses of inbred mouse models to radiation exposure present a unique opportunity to dissect the genetic basis of radiation sensitivity and tissue injury. Such studies are complementary to human association studies as they permit both the analysis of clinical features of disease, and of specific variants associated with its presentation, in a controlled environment. Herein I revie...
